We are a family of 5 with 3 young, fun and energetic children, and a busy lifestyle living and working in
London. Our Household is informal and relaxed, it’s a 6 bedroom home with a garden, and a completely
separate living area for this role within the house (including a bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen,
and terrace).

Head Housekeeper (Live-In)
Full time: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, 7am – 6pm, Saturday & Sunday 8:30am – 7:30pm (Flexibility in hours will be needed depending on requirements each week)

Joining our valued household team of 5, including a Cook/Housekeeper, part-time Cleaner, and two
Nannies, you will be in charge of managing the smooth running of the household. You’ll take the lead
on all things cleaning and tidying, from hands on cleaning, laundry, managing stock levels, to
organising cleaning tasks between the team, overseeing contractors and coordinating deliveries.
About you
You’ll be an experienced and energetic Housekeeper who enjoys having children around. With excellent
attention to detail, you’ll be passionate about achieving high standards and be motivated by doing all
that you can to help the smooth running of the house. A self-starter with lots of initiative, you’re able to
work independently but also have a team centred, hands on approach, being happy to muck in where’s
needed, for example, cooking when other team members are away, flexibility is therefore key. You’ll be
a positive and self-motivated person, with a highly organised and pro-active approach, always spotting
and anticipating what needs doing and planning ahead.

Private and Confidential
Housekeeping
- Lead responsibility for maintaining the
house in a well organised, clean and tidy
state - Lead and manage the part-time cleaner and
liaise with the Cook/Housekeeper and
Nannies to organise and allocate
housekeeping tasks between them - Hands on cleaning and tidying of all rooms
to maintain the house in a clean state
(including, vacuuming, mopping floors,
dusting, cleaning surfaces, mirrors, windows) - Keep storage areas clean and organised
- Spring / deep cleaning, as needed
- Cleaning and maintaining household
appliances to ensure they work effectively
and prolong life - Watering household plants
- Keeping walkways and steps clear and tidy
- Manage external contractors and home
appliances e.g. plumbers, washing machine
checks - Identify and report house maintenance
requirements - Coordinate deliveries
- Maintain stock levels and an inventory for
housekeeping supplies, researching and
liaising with the EA for purchasing and re
ordering as necessary, keeping accurate
records and receipts of expenses
Laundry - Collect, wash, iron and put away laundry
- Arrange and collect dry-cleaning
- Regularly change bed linen
- Be mindful of clothing and washing label
instructions
Grounds - Keep the garden tidy and outdoor walkways
clear - Liaise with the external gardeners for
maintenance
Meals/Cooking - Occasionally help with preparing meals and
clearing away when the housekeeper/cook
is away - Cooking when the Cook is away
- Setting the table for dinner parties and
serving guests/table waiting - Cleaning and keeping the kitchen tidy when
the cook is not there (usually at the
weekends)
Security - Follow guidelines and procedure in relation
to security practices within the home; such
as setting and deactivating the alarms and
guest procedures
Travel - Assist with preparation in advance of the
family travelling
Health & Safety - Ensure health and safety, exercising due skill
and care when carrying out duties, wearing
appropriate clothing/footwear and personal
protective equipment, following the relevant
product instructions when using cleaning
products and take all reasonable steps to
safeguard your own personal safety and that
of others
Relevant experience & skills
Private and Confidential - Extensive practical experience in a similar role
- Experience in managing, supervising and motivating others
- Experience, skills and interest in cooking
- Integrity, trustworthiness, discretion, confidentiality and reliability are key for this role
- Great communication skills with a communicative approach, and strong planning and
organisational skills - Excellent interpersonal skills and a team focused, supportive and hands on, ‘muck in’ approach
- Pro-active with lots of initiative and the ability to look ahead and anticipate future requirements
- The ability to stay calm under pressure, with a flexible approach to be able to cope with
unexpected situations - Strong attention to detail and the motivation to achieve high standards
- A well-presented and a positive role model for the children
- The ability to maintain high professional standards whilst in an informal setting with a responsible

Education & certifications - Willing to have an enhanced DBS check
- Food hygiene and health and safety training/certification – a plus
Job Dimensions
The role is line managed by the EA Team but will have day to day contact and referral with the Principal
