House Manager recruitment

The role of a House Manager

A House Manager is a senior member of property management, often with experience in private service, as a PA, or in the military, yachting, or 5-star hospitality. They may oversee multiple properties.

In larger households, House Managers take on a more supervisory role, managing interior and exterior staff such as housekeepers, nannies, chefs, butlers, drivers, gardeners, and groundskeepers.

In smaller households, House Managers adopt a more hands-on approach, assisting directly with tasks like table service, driving, or providing light PA support.

The salary of a House Manager largely depends on their training and experience, with average annual earnings ranging from £50,000 to £120,000+. House Managers with experience overseeing multiple properties often command higher salaries.

Location is another important factor in salary negotiations. Roles based overseas, in central London, or those involving frequent travel may require a higher compensation package.
